Not for a looooonnng long time, myself included, there was about 50 layoffs and a ton of demotions in DFD. sorry :(((

I was just wondering if this was still the case. I have seen and heard many times that Detroit is a hurting city. Are there still Detroit members that are currently laid-off? How long for a test?, I assume most laid off firefighters will get back their old jobs, before a test is given. Thanks everyone.

well, all the laid off people are now back. EMS side is hiring, I can't really give a timeframe when fire will hire again but I know it won't be anytime soon.
