My local news station's seem to be having competitions to see who can get the biggest and best piece of new weather equipment. Methinks the hide-aways and LED Light bar push this one a little over the top....

I was laughing.
Till I realized it was from my state...
New York to the left of us, Massachusetts sitting on top of us...
Must borrow out now while there is still time....

I did not know that there were whacker meterologists. Of course, the other TV stations here in CT will have to out do this vehicle.

The most usless vehicle in CT. We don't get storms that require chasing here.

Ha Ha...
Besides, it's out of New Haven...
What exactly would you chase while stuck in traffic on I-95? :D

At first glance it reminded me a bit of the Pacer.

At first glance it reminded me a bit of the Pacer.
Pacer was built by AMC, which bought out Jeep... which was bought by Chrysler, which was bought out by Daimler/Mercedes Benz... and SkyMax8 is a Dodge Durango, built by Daimler Chrysler... so the heritage is there...
News Channel 8's SkyMax Mobile Weather Lab is a one of a kind vehicle, specially equipped to allow our Storm Team 8 Meteorologists to track weather conditions on the ground--anywhere across Connecticut.
At Marlborough Airport (9B1), where I am taking flight lessons, we also have a sophistcated weather forcasting tool... the weather stone...
The stone is wet: it's raining.
The stone is wet and icy: freezing rain.
The stone is cold and dry: fair weather, cold temperatures
The stone is warm and dry: fair weather, warm temperatures.
The stone is hot and dry: fair weather, hot outside.
The stone is bright: sunny.
The stone is dull: cloudy.
The stone is white: snow.
The stone is shaking...high winds or earthquake.
The stone is missing: hurricane or tornado!
:D :D :D
