If you are national registry then you can go to www.nremt.org and find the different states and what they accept. Then you must contact the health department in that state to see what all you have to do for respirocity.

If I'm wrong I'm sure someone here can set us straight.

Can only speak for Kentucky. They require valid NREMT card, if you do not have one you must follow the procedures to challenge the NREMT certification. After that you send $35 to the state. Here is the complete process as an example: http://kbems.ky.gov/NR/rdonlyres/BDB0EBE3-A010-4E11-A463-07F6F57C753B/0/ReciprocityChecklist42905.pdf

Good luck.

It can vary significantly from state to state. As Ryan advised, start with the national registry website. If you let us know what state you are interested in, we may be able to help you further.

Even with national registry certification, other states require different things, different amounts of money, etc. Lex advised info for KY. I live in TN and I can guide you to the requirements for out of state EMT's that have to go certain reciprocity to meet TN state standards. Good luck.

I would double check this but your PA cert is valid in NJ. I have worked and known people that have worked in NJ with only a valid PA card. I myself am currently practicing under this circumstance until I recertify in PA this summer (after which I will reciprocate over to NJ permanently). I know there is documenation out there to prove this (I just don't have the time right now to track it down - I'm at work).

This isn't from personal experience, but I have heard that OH certifications do not have any reciprocity in Fla. Or certs. from anywhere as far as I have heard.

from personal expierence....Florida takes no other certs except their own.....they only accept your certs as proof of educational requirment. and you have to pass with an 80% for medic and 75% for basic i believe.
