I am currently planning for building a house in the next 5 years.
I have a few questions.

What costs less? Poured concrete foundation? or Building a block foundation myself?

What is better, Sprayed expandable foam insulation or just fiberglass?

What is better? Prefab roof trusses or using rafters-self built?

I am right now just going over options and possible floor plans.

Also, what is the best software for planning a house. I dont want to blow alot of money on CAD but dont want SIMS quality software. What is the best and most cost effective software?

If you can rent the forms and lay them out, I'd go for the pour. You'll need to pour the floor and footings anyway.

Expandable foam is a much better insulation, but be sure to install numerouse empy conduits for future wiring needs.
