I have been a career firefighter for 7 years. Even though my fire department supplies me with all the necessary equipment needed for everyday firefighting, I'm constantly trying to outfit myself with other tools. With a family, house, and several other financial responsibilities it is important that I always try to find ways to save money. I was recently turned on to a new website called http://www.ffgroupbuy.com by a friend and I can't help but be excited by this concept. I used to purchase my items thru one particular website and pay whatever the list price of the product I wanted was. The new website gives me the ability to tap into vendor volume discounts by purchasing as a group with other fire departments and firefighters nationwide. A similar post from me was removed by firehouse.com and for the life of me I can't understand why. The only goal of ffgroupbuy.com is to help firefighters nationwide save money on products that help them do their job. Correct me if i'm wrong, but isn't firehouse.com a site dedicated to helping firefighters and if it is this post should not be removed. I'm just a registered member of ffgroupbuy.com looking to save some money.

the reason your original post was deleted was because you are advertising on the forums. and I checked out the prices, they aren't that great.

I'm under the assumption that you guys aren't firefighters because aren't we supposed to stand together as one? Help me understand.

I've been a firefighter for 5+ years, and an EMT for 6. and I'm Jewish too, so you know I'm always looking for the best deal possible and the best bang for my buck.

If the store wants to get some good advertising, then they shoudl pay for it. if their prices are as you say, they won't need to advertise much, as word of mouth will cause their bussiness to skyrocket.

If you are on the line with me, then I'll stand with you. but don't expect me to stand with you as you violate the TOS of this site, trying to get free advertising for the site.

especially with the topic of "Please Read!"

There are 3 firefighters in the group buy requesting 4 pairs of gloves and 3 vendors giving us quotes. It's not a store also, you deal direct with various vendors around the country.

I think that if you stood together with us, than you would do some more posting on here than for your own personal vendor website, store, whatever you want to call it.

As a matter of fact, I don't think it is the concept of "standing by you", but rather just letting you know and not getting involved in the fact that the webteam is going to boot this thread away too.

I went ahead and called robertstool.com to see if this group buy site is going to be worth my while to participate in. According to them the gloves are out of stock and he quoted me 35.96 when they do come in. Any other suggestions?
