...and could time travel, where would you like to go?

The obvious answer for many may be high school. All the cute girls you were affraid to ask out. You know, the old "if I only knew then what I know now" thing. :D

But seriously. I always thought that colonial America would have been fantastic. Say 1700-1800 would be cool.

How about you???

I would have used the flux capacitor to go back to 9/10/2001 and would systematically take out each and every one of the murderous scumbags that caused 9/11.

I would go back to 1969. I would bet on two huge longshots, the Mets and the Jets to win their respective championships. I would then take all my winnings and buy Berkshire Hathaway at $64.00 per share.

Currently $88,620.00 per share :D

Ancient Egypt, around the time of Ramses II - probably one of most fascinating periods of human history.

Yeah, I'd like to see the trouble I'd be in when a 38 year old man starts hitting on the high school chicks..... :p

I think, as crazy as it sounds, I would like to go back to WW2. I would like to believe that maybe I could have been as brave as many of those guys were when I was 17 or 18 years old.

I have a tremendous amount of respect for what that whole generation accomplished.

(I wish there was a saluting "smiley")

November 10, 1775 the forming of the United States Marine Corps.

I do like Capt. Gonzo's idea though. So ling as I can use my belt-fed weapons. :D

I like the Capt's idea.

firepics, I know what your saying. I can't believe the courage and dedication of our WW2 vets. I have been in a warzone, albeit well back from combat operations, but not neccesarily secure waters. There was always an undercurrent of tension, never really relaxing. I must think that my WW2 era fellow merchant marines must have experienced 100 times the anxiety, always waiting for that torpedo from "no where" to strike. For that they have my extreme respect.

Personally any of the following dates would be neat:
10/21/1805-off the coast of spain
8/1/1798-just west of Alexiandria eygpt
Valetine's Day 1797-off the coast of Portugal
4/2/1801-Copenhagen
Anyone know what all these dates have in common?

Gonz, as usual, nails it. And DaSharkie's onto something too, although I'd settle for an M40 sniper rifle.

With all due respect to the WWII generation, I believe that the guys who have fought in Falluja, Najaf, Ramadi, and An Nasiriyah rank right up there. Sometimes our awe of our forefathers blinds us to the heroism of our own generation.

I would have to agree on going back to the Revolutionary War, that would be pretty cool.

10/21/1805 Admiral Nelson and the Battle of Trafalgar.

8/1/1798 Lord Nelson found and sank found Napoleon’s fleet.

Valentine's Day 1797 Captain Nelson and Admiral Jervis defeat the Spanish fleet.

4/2/1801 The English Royal Navy, with Vice-Admiral Nelson, atacked Copenhagen and defeated the Danish fleet.

No, I don't see anything in common with these dates :D

Actually this is the first thing I thought. Gonzos idea came a close second!

Sometime in the Summer of 1986. Just before my now ex wife arrived on the scene. So I could go to the gents in the bar instead of stopping to talk to her!! ;)

Other than following Da Gonz to provide additional fire support, I think I'd like to "be there" when the first thoughts for designing internal combustion engines and centerfugal pumps (to see the "paper napkin in the bar, over martinis" first concepts :D) and to really see how Da Vinci really came up with some of his futuristic ideas.

And if it weren't that two really great young boys came out of it, to leave very detailed notes to myself regarding my X-Wife. (thank God she never REALLY did learn to shoot fireballs from her eyes hehehehehe)

I would have to travel back to when I was 19 and first interested in the fire service, but was deterred because "I dont want anything to do with that EMT stuff"
