Our local gov. is updating our 800 system. They are wanting to go with a Johnson system. We are currently using Motorola. I have heard lots of bad info on the Johnsons. What do you use? And do you like it? Any info you could give would be greatly appreciated.

Well, I can't offer any negative experience with EF Johnson since they are just not a popular and widely used manufacturer. That in and of itself should be a concideration. Mot-whore-ola will probably rip you off no matter what. You are probably screwed either way.

Thanks nm. That's what a lot of guys around here are saying. I was really hoping I could hear from some guys who are using the radios. The county EMA received a grant to update the system. They are leaning toward Johnson because they can get "more for their money". Since very few departments around here use Johnson we only hear what the salesman has to say, so of course "they're great". Anybody using these who can give me positive or negative feedback would be greatly appreciated, and could possibly prevent a costly mistake, or even secure a good cost effective purchase. Thanks again. Dan
