Not bad Bou.

Best airframe up there is an AC-130 Spectre from USAFSOCOM. When you take a C-130 and put a 105 mm howitzer, 2 - 40 mm Bofors (anti aircraft) cannons, and several chain guns on the port side of the aircraft and aim them down - may I just say giddy freaking up!!!!!

A tie for second is a B-52 Arc-Light strike or a full barrage from the 16 inch guns of a battleship.

My understanding is that neither of those were friends of the VC or Iraqis.

I seem to remember reading somewhere that those AC-130's could fire a round into every square inch of a football field in less than 60 seconds....WOW!

Speaking of chain guns, I have always loved that scene in Predator where the guy gets pissed after Jesse Ventura's character gets killed and he mows down half the forest with his chain gun.

The AC-130s are known as "Spectres" (at least that was our nickname for them...the "Puff" was an AC-47 - Vietnam war era).

Spectres have 20mm vulcan Gatling guns on em, Puff had miniguns (7.62).

The stuff in the video is miniguns - chain guns are what is on the Bradley Fighting Vehicle (25mm) and the Apache helicopter (30mm)....

BTW Dillon Aero did a very nice rework of the M134 minigun a few years back that solved a lot of the feed problems...

Needless to say it can really ruin your day...or make it a lot better if you are the one calling for them.... :D

Nice video.

I spent many years in the reserves with a machine gun unit, and I still believe there is no better way to relieve your stress than to spend a weekend blowing taxpayers money through the barrel of a .50 BMG. (although, that door gunner has it pretty damn good :D )

As Sharkie would say: "Happiness is a belt fed weapon" ;)

Martin,

Only those of us who have fired one can truly understand that happiness really is a belt-fed weapon. Doesn't matter the calibre or the type - so long as it does not jam.

:D Considering that every 4th round or so is a tracer, that is an impressive display of lead distribution! :D

Dear Santa,

Every Christmas now, you have never brought me anything I truly wanted. Remember when I was 6 and I asked for that B.A.R, or how bout when I was 13, really wanted that old Sherman Tank.

Then 17 rolled around, I begged for a date with the little red-headed girl, again no red headed girl under the tree.

In light of all the dissapointing Christmas', not to mention last year's fiasco (dont tell me you cant deliver to an APO) all I really want is a chain gun and a mount to fit in back of my Wrangler.

Please Santa, you better step up to the plate on this one.

Respectfully,

Lil CaptainS

P.S. Dont forget the green tracers

While it may not top the mini-gun, anyone who's done some time behind a GPMG knows this video is impressive in it's own right.

Modifed M60 (http://www.wimp.com/machinegun/)

I feel for the shooter, that guy was getting beat by that gun.

I destroyed a barrel on a 5.56 C9 after just 600 virtually non-stop rounds. Even my old 7.62 C6 would likely have glowed bright orange and distorted after that one.
