A bunch of scumbags decided to go an a race-riot and bash anybody of middle-eastern appearance. :(
It was in response to an alleged bashing by a gang of 'lebanese' youths(probably at least 90% born in Australia  ) on a volunteer surf lifesaver.
I personally think that they should have all been arrested, but unfortunately too few were.
Australia is a very tollerant country, but like all countries, there is that small majority that is giving us a very bad name in the international media, mostly in South East Asia and the middle East.

Funnily enough Steve it did remind me of the race riots and stuff that you have mentioned on here that you have to deal with in England.

I'm lucky - down here in Melbourne the worst it gets is Bay 13 at the MCG when the cricket is on :D

LOL
Don't talk to me about Melbourne...My Bro-in-Law rang me when he saw that the Eastern UK had heavy Snow just to tell me that while we were hovering around 32f he was enjoying 34c and bright sunshine in Melbourne.

The lucky **** had been out cycling along the beach "To work off my Christmas Dinner" Bloody lucky Aussies!!!!

I'll testify to the Fosters and to a lesser degree Castlemain 4X theory....4X was very popular in the UK in the 90's but has died off a little now. Fosters is sold in most Pubs and is a popular 'General' lager like our own Carling or Heineken. True lager Aficionados will go for Stella Artios, Kronenburg 1664 or other foreign (European) Premium lagers.

Lager is the most popular alcoholic drink in the UK with 2/3rds of male and 1/3 of female Drinkers chossing it as their tipple.

Do I win a prize for taking a thread off topic in one paragraph??? :D

Rubber Bullets or Airsoft guns... I gaurantee a riot will break up really fast when the cops just cut the bull**** and start shooting. The people don't have to know they aren't shooting bullets.

Paul

The reason it was called XXXX is because around that part of Aussie they have trouble spelling words longer than three letters.

Might be a bit hot for cycling tomorrow - 43c tomorrow (110f), will still be around 35c at midnight on New Years Eve. Might see in the New Year at the beach in the water I think.

Now what was that "snow" word that you mentioned? I've heard it mentioned in Christmas Carols etc, but what is it exactly? :D I looked it up in my Aussie dictionary but there was no mention of it there

There's a few but they are under control, all except for the one that somehow ignited in the big open cut coal mine at about 15:30 today - fair bet they are going to be at that one for a few days at least. Not the place you want to be tomorrow with 43 degreesC and not an ounce of shade to be found.
