FIREPAC funds go to candidates on both sides of the aisle who support the one thing that IAFF is most concerned about... firefighter issues. Your local can choose who to support in a national , state or local election. The Brothers in Milwaukee supported the Republican ticket this year, yet you do not see people clamoring for Milwaukee to be drummed out of the IAFF, do you?

Join your IAFF local. It's things that get done on the Local level that make it all worthwhile.

When you get in trouble who do you expect to defend you?
Who do you think negotiates your pay raises and work rules?
Don't you want to have a vote in the direction the union moves in the future?

Gonzo touched on it but I want you to clearly understand something. Your union dues do not go to support political parties. A firepac donation does and those are voluntary. Do what SONO said - join and protect your carreer. Don't take the benefits at your brothers expence!
