A neighboring department is now in the middle of a s*** storm because of the stupidity of a Chief and the department President. Apparently 9 of their underage members (ages 18-20) were allowed to drink and get drunk at the department's Christmas party on Friday night. The shocking part is that the Chief and the President thought there was no problem with their underage members drinking and getting tanked at the party because "none of them were driving." Well, one of their members decided to open his/her big mouth, word got around, and now the local police and town board are conducting a full investigation. I'm sure resignations and/or expulsions will follow shortly.

Talk about pure stupidity, it really paints a nice picture of the volunteer fire service.

With today's climate, I would surprise me that there would be ANY drinking , whether "of age" or not, at a Department sponsored event.
