I only watched 1 inning of this afternoon's game. It started 0-0. It ended 7-0 I think. That was not a good inning for the Yankees.

2 out of 3!
Can you imagine what that series 9/30-10/2 is going to mean if it remains this tight?
Manny still sucks.

Look behind you. Might be 1.5 games when tonights all over. Isn't this August? Then it must be time for the almost annual Red Sox tank.

There's not a Yankee fan that I know that is saying" My God, we can win the Wild Card"!
The schedules of both teams favor a wild weekend in Boston 9/30-10/2.
The way the teams have been playing (Sox barely playing .500 for Sept. More injuries, Schilling tanking) (Yankees pitching coming around, A-Rod, Giambi, etc) strongly favor the Yanks. The calendar strongly favors the annual late summer tank by the Sox.
Playoff ball in the Bronx!

The annual choking period begins late July early August and ends with a resurgence in early September.
Notice that it is 16-Sept-05 and no choking, yet :p

No choking yet? They haven't exactly been setting the world on fire. With as bad as the Yankees pitching has been this year, they should be leading the division by 15 games.
Oh, I forgot. I hate Manny.

Dude, they still won.The Big Unit fortunately is not being relied upon right now as the number one hurler. Besides, he only threw 51 pitches and can come back on short rest.

The Yankees are playing B'more the week after next (4 games I believe as Monday is from a rained out game back in June), so those should be easy wins. :p And they're in there right after Boston...

What is the only MLB team to have ever lost a series after leading 3-0?
Anyone remember?

Great scenario: When the final regular season series between the Red Sox and Yankees start, the Yankees are ahead by 3 games. They choke (again) and the Red Sox win (again).
3-0 -> 3-4

Second the opinion the Sox's normal "fall tank" begins sometime before the all-star break traditionally...
The end of the season could be one of heck of a series if things keep going.
=========
Wonder what the mathematical possibility of...
-- Chicago complete balks the end of the season
-- Sox & Yankess finish the last game of the season, tied for the AL East...
-- Forcing a Sox & Yankees tie-breaker game to decide who wins the AL East and who wins the Wildcard...
-- With the Wildcard playing...the AL East? 9 straight Boston / New York games...a Fox Sports Executive's fondest dream, not sure if the nerves of the fans of the northeast could hold up for that long of a stretch though ;)
I *think* that scenario may still be mathematically possible :)

For most Yankee fans, the rest of the playoffs are anti-climatic-except of course if they play the Red Sox again.

I thought, I could have sworn, I saw another player last night, the name on the jersey was Buckner?
I cant take it anymore, I have yet to see the Sox in a championship game and now I probably never will. God love em always will but DAM :(

Of course its anti-climactic when you are playing golf in Miami instead of swing for the fences in Chi-town.
Angles 5, Yankees 3 - Final in 9 - Angles take the series 3-2.
