I Am A 22 Yr Old Male, And I Am About To Take My State Fire Test. And I Was Wondering If There Are Any Departments in Texas That Would Hire Me And Send Me To Emt School. Or Should I Just Go Ahead And Go To Emt School Myself. The School I Went To For My Fire Was Just A Strictly Fire School No Emt. Any Information Or Advice Would Be Greatly Appreciated.

Most full time departments require EMT to hire, but some require it within 1 year.
Just as an idea, you might see if there are any volunteer departments in your area. Most will send you to EMT school

If I recall correctly in order to obtain your state fire cert you must have at least EMT-B cert.

Thus the wisdom of completing medic school, getting hired and then letting someone else pay for fire academy.

To apply for your fire cert you must hold, at a minimum, am ECA cert. My advice would be to look for a course in your area. Where do you live?
