Early-morning fire razes mobile home
OREM — A mobile home burned to its frame early Thursday morning, but the only occupant escaped unharmed, Orem Police Lt. Doug Edwards said.
When firefighters arrived at the blaze at 2:42 a.m., the mobile home in the park at 597 N. State was fully engulfed. The resident left a candle burning when he went to bed, Edwards said, which apparently started the fire.
A smoke alarm woke the man, allowing him to escape. A trailer and truck parked in the carport were also destroyed, Edwards said. Loss was estimated at $32,000.
