Anybody from Saranac Lake here? My dads family is from their and we used to visit often.

My roommate in college those many years ago was from Saranac Lake and my daughter's best friend goes to college at Paul Smiths about 10 miles away.

We live about 2 hours away, but I've visited there many times and just love the area. The 'ice palace' they build in the winter is phenominal.The fd has a web site,you should check it out, they are a class operation.

I always loved it up there, though I havent been since the late '70s. We almost moved there, my parents were looking at buying a bed & breakfast just outside of town. We ended up in Fla instead. :eek: :D
