Just thought I would share a few pictures of our last training. We were privlaged enough to recieve a house to practice a live burn with. The home owner purchased the property but didnt want the house and contacted us.

We have been working on this house for 3 training evalutions. First night we practiced search and rescue with dummies and smoke machine, no fire envolvment.

Second night we practiced some ventalation and Rit team practice, and forcable entry.

Third night we did some burns, we Started 3 small one room burns and walked our rookies through the basics. After that we wanted to practice trench cuts to cut the fire off. We let the fire consume half the house and then went to work with the Ladder and interior teams at the front door and back door. From here we wanted to cut the fire spread off and only allow one portion of the house to burn and protect the rest.

This training went well, all objectives were completed safley. We still have one more evalution with the rest of the house which will deal with more burns after we review the last training.

Here are some photos I selected out of the 200 or so that were taken, enjoy.

This is a picture of the house with partial involvment.

Here is a picture of exterior attack just keeping the flames in control during the burn.

Picture of the back door where we were going into the kitchen to push back the fire into the burned section. We were using the ladder of fog stream up top also to help control the fire from spreading to the unburned portion.

There are several of those around these parts. They're labeled "Air Mail" but are actually Birdhouses. I have NOT had to operate at an incident involving one. Yet.

BTW, 2947, Got a better photo of the vehicle behind you in the last shot?

Ewww, it's not ripe yet, put it back on the stem! Lol, joking, of course. Nice pictures though. What would the SOP's be for one of those birdhouses on fire? Would you ladder all four sides and two sticks to the roof? Do you think a high-rise kit would be needed? Probably a good size pump too, the elevation increase would definitely mean a good amount of pressure would have to be coming out of the pump to even get a trickle at the knob....okay, I'll stop now before I go completely insane....

While I do have a preference towards red, what with both of my companies having that, I really don't have a problem with any of the other colors. In fact, there's a company around me who's truck are green and white (it's the township of Limerick, so they've got the whole Irish thing going), which I think look totally kick ass. That joke was more making fun of the lively discussions that go around these boards about truck colors. I'm glad you enjoyed it though...;)

See what I mean chrnea? Also, Rescuepimp, is there a possibility you're from New England? I hear that's where the contemporary usage of the word "wicked" came from....(And don't say it says on your member info, I have no idea what the Berkshires are.....there's a Berkshire Mall where I live, but that's because it's Berks county....lol...

Full high rise assignment. lobby control set up in the newspaper box ;)

As for the BYT issue...Chesterfield, Va has had yellow rigs for 30+ years...now white over yellow with blue striping.

CFD Station 14 had an '83 ALF tractor drawn aerial with a 6 man cab. The nickname for this huge rig was (What else would you call something bright yellow and a bit over 60 feet long)'The Big Banana'

As for the pics...awesome job!
