Wristbands ~ Supporting FF's in Iraq!

Hello, hello ...
Just wanted to get the word out that we (The Friends and Families of FF's in Iraq) have created our "own support" symbol for the many combat firefighters in Iraq!
You know the yellow silicone wristbands that say "LIVE STRONG" (supporting cancer awareness by Lance Armstrong)? Well, we've created:
Red bands that have debossed:
FFing in Iraq~Protecting Those Protecting US
The first order is due in by the third week of August or so. If anyone is interested, they're $2.50/ea (divided "mold" fees and shipping into each piece - just let me know where to send 'em).

IF there are any proceeds ... after boxing and shipping all over God's green earth ... then we (the ladies) and I talked about having a "reunion" ... other than that, to me! :D

i honestly dont think there will be to much proceeds from this, It is more done for support, i know they cost of these to make is 1$ and up a peice depending on how many are purchased plus she is including shipping in the cost so .............. good for you

I was a little worried there for a minute ... 'cause I didn't want anyone to think I was "ripping them off" or whatever ... I just hadn't thought about it ... I just want to show support and this was an idea ... yes, there is a lot that goes into boxing 'em up and shipping 'em out (like one order has TWO destinations - stateside and Iraq - but I don't mind). I even thought that if there is anything left ... the ladies and I would send care packages to those fellas who don't have family, etc. I dunno, just never got that far. We'll see. Know for sure, I'M NOT DOING THIS FOR MYSELF! (Hell, I didn't even come up with the idea - it's a collaboration) I'm glad everyone's interested and showing support for one another ... the way it should be!!!

I think that if there is money left over then you should be able to do with it you want to, you are sinking lots and lots of time into this.. Hello eveyone,
Just wanted to let you know, that I'll be depositing the checks I've recieved tomorrow (08/05/05). The first order should be in within the week ... I talked to the company ... and eventho THEY DID make a mistake (missing a "c" in the word "protecting") ... they are correcting at no expense or delay to us and have added "free" bracelets - depending on how many, I'll add one or two to those that have already paid and ordered! I will also be placing a second order tomorrow ... tho, not all of the first order have sold ... but lots of requests! :D Have a great day!

Good Idea, too common of a way to show support. I would order one, but I don't think I could fit another bracelet on my arm. I got one for the Troops, one for Cancer, one For Diabetes, One for Breast Cancer, one for LODD's .....How about a nice T-shirt or a small ring for the finger?

Not trashing your idea at all, just seems we have a bracelet for everything nowadays....

Thanks for the input ... everyone's entitled to their own opinion and ideas. This was just ours (the ladies of the Families thread) ... and I went with it! I think we have enough T-shirts too ... my husband has gotten us several ... ones from each station he's been to ... and ones supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom. I like the ring idea ... but that's costly. Again, thanks for input.

How is it going the the distribution of the wristbands? We have been having problems with our post office and not getting some of our mail. So, I would like to know if you sent ours out yet and what address I gave you. You can email me personally at seanchrista@yahoo.com. If they haven't gone out yet, I will give you both our street address and PO BOX and have you put them both on the package.

Thanks Christa ... I actually "complained" to the company because it wasn't "centered" like I wanted, it was supposed the have the "dot" after FFing IN IRAQ * Protecting those protecting US * ... but it'll do ... I've had SO many people ask me about them ... I wear mine EVERYDAY ... ALLDAY! I don't know if I posted this ... but I had one that said USA (and inside "Made in China") :D ... and I wore it all the time ... and everything went great for Kelly. Then it must've slipped off while I was doing "poop patrol" out back (I think I grabbed it when I took off the rubber gloves) ... and Kelly had nothing but problems for 2 days ... which was how long I didn't realize it was gone ... and without even knowing it when I took my daughters ... everything was great again?! Do do do do ...
Anyways, hope all is well, have a great night ... and soon to be weekend!

Kristen I also have not received the 20 that I ordered. I am having a going away party on the 17th. I am hoping to sell them at the party and donate the money to the Red Cross for huricane Katrina. Is there any chance that I will have them by then?
