Congradulations Stayback. The world needs more like you.

Not to brag (it's not my style) but my Mom who is a retired teacher just got nominated and put in, for the 2nd time.:) She knows who nominated her the first time, but the second is a mystery. If your'e wondering, I was not one of her students. She taught at a school 40 miles away. -sno

Question
What does it mean to be in Who's Who Among America's Teachers® ?

Answer
This is a very special honor. You are being recognized for excellence in teaching. This recognition is even more gratifying because it is being bestowed by one of your former students, or because of your outstanding achievements as recognized by your community and peers.

Who's Who Among America's Teachers is intended to honor and support all teachers, particularly new teachers, by letting them know that their efforts are indeed appreciated by their students and others in the field of education.

Your inclusion in the publication carries no financial obligation. It is a way that one or more of your former students have chosen to highlight your contribution to their life and success.

Who's Who Among America 's Teachers is published annually. Nominations are received through October prior to the year of the publication. Data is gathered the year of publication and published in October. Although about 10% of the teachers listed in an edition are nominated again and listed in the next edition, all data is updated for each edition.

Way to go Brother!

My wife and I would add our congratulations to the pile that you're sure to get from the Forums participants. My wife drove a School Bus for most of her working years. (No, we didn't meet on the Bus, she drove a Long one, I rode a Short one.) Bus driving is NOT teaching, but you get a peek at what teachers have to put up with. Best Wishes, keep dodging those Stop signs, and look forward to SUMMER!. ;) ;)

Thank you all for the very kind words.

I love my profession. I work with something more valuable than gold or diamonds on a daily basis...our kids. I am honored to do so.

now if only there were a "Who's Who among Stop Sign abusers!" I mean imagine the accolades we could present if that were the case!!! :D

Seriously! Congrats! My wife works in a school system and on the occassional visit to her when she forgets her lunch or something, man I can't wait to get out of there. I wouldn't last a day with those rugrats. Thanks for doing everyday what many of us couldn't do for one!
