The lovely Mrs. Gonz and I went out to Acapulco's Restaurant in Sudbury for Mexican food this evening, followed by a visit to Sudbury Farm's supermarket.
There was an older gentleman standing just outside the entrance dressed in Air Force Class A's and he was collecting money for the Disabled American Veterans. I as approached him, I noticed the oak leaf clusters on the epaulets of his uniform signifying his rank and that there were a set of wings over his "salad bar" of combat ribbons. As I put a few dollars into his container, I asked him what he flew. His eyes lit up for a moment and he said "B-29's... in WW2 and Korea". I thanked him for his service to his country. The smile that came across his face made my day....
Thank you, Major Allen!
