My department is ordering new bunker gear. Just wandering if anyone has a suggestion on what type of rescue harness to use if any.

Check out Fire Innovations. Some interesting harnesses for firefighters/rescue. http://go.fireinnovations.com/

I saw the fireinnovations CT2C harness and a couple others at the LCFA show in Harrisburg last week. The guy put on a good show, very convincing the versatility of their belts, but there was one thing that stood out. He was doing this all in utility gloves and jeans. I don't know if in full bunkers, zero visability, and structure gloves I would be able to manipulate that harness like that.
I use a Gut Belt with various straps and bieners.

Our department just recently started inserting a harness into all of our new gear. I'm not sure what harness it is but it's whatever Morning Pride is using. We have even sent some older sets to Morning Pride to have the harness put in. WE have found them to be real useful as far Firefighter bail out and even upper level floor rescues as far as lowering the victims down. We are in the process of training on Large area searches and even found a use for them there. Great tool but if you got a harness please get a bail out system or rope. I've seen to many guys that have a harness but no rope or system to use it with.. Sorry for being long winded.

We use morning pride gear at my company and every set of gear comes with a gemtor harness. It is probably the most important accesory that I can order for the gear.
Also, I have had a bunker pants modified to hold a class II harness. The only issue that we had was the fact that the hook on the harness needed to be tucked away someway that it would be accessible when needed, and not get tangled on anything. Another advantage of the other harness is that it can be used while doing truck operations.

Anybody used Yates? This one (http://www.thefirestore.com/store/product.cfm?pID=2379) in particular? We're getting ready to purchase harnesses for all of our entry people, and probably going to go with that one...
I've always used Yates for recreational climbing/rappeling, but just wondering how they hold up to tough firefighting/rescue use.

One advantage I see with the Gemtor is that I believe that it's available in more than one size - but don't quote me on that. Also it's been fire service proven.
