So all of you with dogs, do you feed them wet or dry food?
I feed my two dogs mainly dry although I occasionally toss in a can of wet food as well to spice it up. And they already know they are going to get veggie and some meat scraps when I cook. :)

If they were victims, er, ah, recepients of my cooking, they'd be quite fat, real quick.  And, as a side note, were't Cats put on this earth for the sole purpose of harrassing dogs?:D :D

I give Homer dry food in the morning and a mix of dry/wet in the evening following his walk. I used to give him the real high dollar stuff but now that he's through his formative months he gets Pedigree because he eats so damn much!

Mostly dry dog chow mixed with raw veg. We won't go into why; Sam gets embarassed and would rather not discuss his issues.:D

Dad's for both the dogs and the cats.
table scraps only when they are "good" ones. not everyday, just when there's a little bit of the pot roast leftover, etc.

We give our Golden dry food, although we do add some water. Vet suggested that we add water to slow down the inhalation process.
and NOOO table scraps!
carrots for treats too.

My Lab gets dry food. Sometimes we will throw a little beef broth on it, or some of the Iams gravy. We have been feeding her Premium edge since she was a puppy and havent had any problems. She seems to like it and it is about $32 for a 40lb. bag. The good thing is it has glucosamine in it to stave off arthritis.

I add water to the dry food (Canidae) for our 2 German Shepherds. One is real finicky and will not eat for a day or two every now and again, when he was a puppy we used to add baby food to get him to eat. The other we adopted from a shelter about 3 years ago, and she'll inhale just about anything we put in her bowl.

My CAT gets Science diet Senior dry food, with a forkfull of 9 lives tuna in the morning. She eats the tuna right away, then nibbles on the dry food the rest of the day.
For an OCCASIONAL treat, we buy her roses!! She loves them.

My little puppy is a black lab saint bernard he eats anything that does not eat him first. He weights in at 132lbs. Maybe I should start a thread for this but my brother and I got him and one of his brothers at the same time. His was named Axe mine’s Bull. Yeah I know Backdraft was the big movie then. The poor Dalmatian gets what ever is left over. His name is RIT.

My cat gets wet food, actually raw meat, none of this canned stuff. As a treat, he gets raw chicken necks, cut up into little bite size pieces.
I also give him 'natural', non-preservative laden dry kibble.
I pamper that little bugger to no end...he eats better than I do, but then again he is my only dependant. He only gets tortured when I bring out my bagpipes!!

STM, haven't we had this conversation before?! NO CANNED FOOD! CANNED FOOD IS BAD....VERY BAD!!!
1). It's expensive.
2). Poor nutrition.
3). Full of fat/grease.
4). Bad for the teeth.
5). Many times will aggravate skin problems b/c of # 2 and # 3.
6). DEFINATELY don't give it to a growing puppy!
Yes, to my dismay, my dog gets canned food with his dinner every night. Not my choice, that's for sure!

And that doesn't cover the problems it causes for the dog. :D
