I thought that you had to be 18 to take the EMT class???
What else are you wanting to know I finished mine a few months ago?

You have to be 18 to be Credentialed as an EMT. You can take the class prior to turning 18, but have to be 18 to take the state test.

If this is read...I've always been told that in NC you can take the class when you are 16 and if you pass the class then the state exam they will mail you your cert. on your 18th birthday.

Yes, you can take the class and test before you turn 18 as long as you are over 16. But you will not be "certified" until your turn 18.

I had a friend just take it at 17 back in march with me. The only problem she had was that they wouldn't tell her if she passed or not.

Similar here in New Jersey anyone 16+ can take the EMT class but won't be able to do the EMT duties officially till their 18th Birthday

WTCC has an awesome class curriculum. I'd suggest starting the course about 4 months before your 18th b-day. That way, when you turn 18, you'll be well into the course and ready to take the state test when you finish.
If I may as well...recommend a good company to build your EMT-B skills at, while getting PAID to do so!! Enter Johnston Ambulance Service. See their website >> www.jas-online.org. I am a real-life employee of this company!
I work out of the Durham/Orange Co. office on Hillsborough Road in Durham. Phillip Pettit is the Lieutenant over there and a great friend of mine.
