Hello all. I was wondering if AMR does any first response any where in the state?

Within the past few years they have had some units in Tacoma. Last I knew, Tacoma Fire does all ALS transports with their five ALS units, and a mix of private providers cover BLS transports in the area.

Thank You,
With the need for non-firefighter EMTs to stay current, it is awfully hard without real experience. I feel there is a diference between staying current and being a well rounded EMT. Perhaps other response related feilds like mountian mountian rescue? Any thoughts on pollishing skills without being a firefighter in the state?

I have not lived in Washington since 1993 and don't travel there much any more, so I don't have any current Washington-specific ideas for you.... what about volunteering in the ER? There are lots of private ambulance companies in Washington besides AMR, too...

Right, I am in the procces of volunteering at the hospital, although I will not have any direct patient care, it will be helpfull to be in that atmosphere.
