I just bought Ladder 49 on DVD, and...

I love it!

I haven't watched it yet, but I did pop it into the computer and watch some of the special features. It was worth the price just for the 'Shine Your Light' video and 'Real Heros'. Best Buy has a good deal on it today. It's only $15.99

I can't wait to pop it in the DVD player and watch it on my new flat-screen television and hear that nice surround sound system kick in.

One thing I noticed first when I bought it was the guy on the front of the DVD case doesn't match the rest of the firefighters. Take a look at his helmet. I wonder how they could have messed something like that up.

I just finished watching it about an hour ago. I still think it's a great movie. It's still a tear-jerker too. I wonder how long it will take me to watch it as many times as I've watched Backdraft.

If you get a chance, check out the deleted scenes. They're pretty funny, but I can see why they were deleted. There is also a behind the scenes video, but I haven't watched it yet.

I haven't seen it yet, but I can't wait to. We might be watching it at "movie night" next weekend at the firehouse, but I hope I see it before that. :)

I went to the movies and seen it 5 times , diff friends wanted to see it diff times and I loved it each time , I downloaded itabout 2 months ago and watched it a few times and I bought it last night at walmart. Were getting together at the house and watching it tonight gonna be soem good times then play some poker and run some calls enjoy it I did. I'll probably cry again tonight lol. But noone really messes with a 6'5" 300lb crying man lol enjoy it everyone awesome movie.:D

I saw it in the movies and couldn't wait to get my hands on it. I added it to my netflix about, oh I would say 2-3 months ago and it will finally be shipping. I can't wait to get it. I'm at school now, but one of my brothers back home bought it the other day and we are going to watch it this weekend when I come home for spring break.

The very first day it was in theatres my department had a house fire, a good one too. Thankfully it was contained to one room. The funny thing is, immediately after we got done on the scene, myself, one of our chiefs, and 3 other firefighters went to see the movie for its' first showing. It was most definately the best FF movie I've ever seen.

well i bought it last night and popped it in at home around 10:00 after our weekly business meeting. it was a grreat movie, minus the fact the the damn DVD skipped like 5 times because it was scratched or something (taking it back to blockbuster, cause it was brand freaking new) it was a really heartfelt movie, and i definltey agree that john travolta has and espcially now continue to be my favorite actor, he definitley knows what its all about by watching the special features (ive only watched real hero's so far, it was like 12:30 am when i finished it.)

Great movie I thought, not so much for the story line, but for the aspect and experience. Its good to know that I was not the only one that cried at the movie. My friends thought it was quite funny, but they don't understand hehe, that's the simplest way to put it. I defintely think that the actors did a great job in the movie. Its up there was the classic Backdraft. Only John Travolta is more of a badass.

1. Whats with constantly sending only 1 guy by himself on a SAR?
2. Why does EVERYTHING blow up?
3. No SCBA in a hazmat condition? (the steam burn)
4. He let go of the damn rope!!!
5. They could have put someone in the opening where he let the guy down from with the rope, to hoist him out. (drop him off with the chopper)

6. The control roomed seemed survivable enough for him to hang out in for the rest of the fire to be put out.

7. Theres no way in hell you can hear another person talk that well in a fully involved room.

Watched 49 last night at a fellow FF's house. Some of the best shots were of the firehouse jokes though; loved them!!

Ok , some might bitch about things wrong in the movie , its a movie thats why. Everything can't be perfect and exact and if everything didn't blow up it wouldn't entertain the other population of non firefighting personnel . Theres going ot be glitches and things wrong with it hey thats cool but in my eyes I think they did a hell of a good job trying the best they could.

Ladder 49 Things wrong or incorrect.
I love watching movies and noticeing things wrong with them or out of place. Heres a place to post a few things you might have noticed wrong about some stuff in the movie.

1. During a forward lay a firefighter stood on the hose instead of wrapping it around the hydrant and then stepping on it.

2. No nose cups in the scba masks.

3. During cpr on the one girl he saved around christmas time , they were doing 5 to 1 compresions ?? she was like 13 or older I thought.

4.Only one firefighter at times going in.

I am going to buy Ladder 49 on DVD too. I usually buy my DVDs used, but I will buy this one new.
I have a PS2 to watch DVDs at home, a TV at school with built in DVD player (I donated it to our residence lounge) and I'm getting an iBook with a DVD player. I am going to start collecting DVDs.

O.K. - I got a good Ladder 49 question.

Am I the ONLY one who's pissed because they chose to market the Full Screen and the Wide Screen version separately ?? I mean really aren't we grubbing for every last cent here - just how much extra cost and "lost revenue" would putting both versions on the same disk (or god forbid a 2 disk pkg.) actually generated ??

Whew - O.K. I feel better now. That being said I bought the wide screen one last night and will be watching it (multiple times I'm sure) this weekend while on EMS duty.
