So glad these stupid holidays are over and everyone can
get back to work and get things normal again.

Good thing I didnt see Mini-Me this season or it would have
been "Pow-My-truck-just-hit-you."

Love, Bou

Ahhh..the end of silly season!

The Christmas tree has been taken down, it's carcass now awaits pickup by the city to be turned into mulch, the decorations are put away for another year...and I kid you not.. the other day I got a card in the mail from a jewelry store chain that is already pushing diamonds for that "special someone next Christmas"

I have almost everything back in the basement. Told the wife she can't buy any more Christmas stuff. (don't think she heard). I think I have carried 30 plastic tubs down the stairs with at least three to go. This does not count the outside decorations.

The tubs seem to come up the stairs in stages but all have to back down at once.

All that work aside, I love my new weather station.

Stay safe,

Pete

I'm not a big holiday person myself, so I am glad to see them done.

I just think that everyone forgets what Christmas is really about. New Year's is an excuse to go out and get drunk. Not to mention that I can't just run out to Wal-Mart to buy some laundry detergent or some clothes without getting mobbed. It has just gotten way too commercialized for my taste and it has taken all of the joy out of the season for me, and it only gets worse every year.

The holidays are about whatever one wants them to be about, and it's always been that way. And I'm glad they're over, as well.

I kinda enjoyed this year, enjoyed the time home with the kids. After the year of bad things (Plane crash with 3 burned up, 2 of which I knew well, a young lady burned alive, my mother with cancer:( ) All this crap really made me realize how special my family is and how short life can be...........you know, that fireman stuff.

Sorry for those horrid details........but sometimes it makes you wake up, smell the roses, and slow down a little bit!

I was glad to get through the hollidays without having to do CPR as the hollidays always seem to be the season for deaths and Cardiac arests.

I wish I was as lucky as you FFFRED, We had our "annual" DOA on Christmas. I think it was in part due to that nasty stomach bug going around, plus some past medical history. But like most everyone else here has said, I'm glad they're over too.

Nothing like running to a fully involved house through rush hour shopping traffic. If they make flying cars, they need to make flying firetrucks first. (that is if they can even get off the ground).

Capt... I hear you....I think they have to do this so we can save some money up to buy that expensive crap! Can you believe it!?...Diamonds...on a Public Servents salary?! HA!

Seriously...I'm ready to get back to work...It was nice to have the extra time with the family...but now I have to work to pay for it...this year, let alone getting ready for next year.

Take Care

The next celebration period is closer than you think...one of the guys on my crew is a delivery driver for DHL. He told me he had EASTER EGGS on his truck the week before Christmas to take to stores in town

After staying up late and sleeping in for two weeks during Christmas break, then having to get up at 6:00 AM on Monday to face a crew of 26 very active second graders, my mind and body are still in shock. Hubby is typical spouse of a teacher with very little sympathy ("You get over 12 weeks of vacation per year. Quit complaining.").:)

My wife and I went shopping at Wally World on December 26th and they were moving all of the Christmas stuff off of the shelves and getting the St. Valentine's Day crap out into the aisles.

I think they are all getting ready to make sure that there is no time that the stores are not getting ready for an upcoming holiday.

Holiday Carnage is almost over for us, as the city people face up to going back to work this week or next week.

Absolute MORONS this year, in future they can stay home in the big city instead of driving to our location just to have an accident.

Apart from them, there was the normal tribe of friends and relatives deciding to visit Mr and Mrs Kiwi at the beach for the holidays. Good times and loads of fun (when I was home from calls
)

11 months and 20 days to Christmas people. Be Prepared.
