I just read an article in todays Chicago Tribune about the upcoming Presidential Innagural. In my opinion the amount of money being spent is obscene. The theme is going to be one of a military nature due to the fact that we are at war. The Innaguration is being funded by private donations. That's great. I truly believe that instead of spending 40 MILLION dollars on parties, how about cutting back and having these corporations use some of the money to better equip our troops and help them and their families back home. Hell, let em write it off their corporate taxes. I can think of no better way of honoring our fighting men and women then doing all we can to insure they return home in one piece and if God forbid they dont to help take care of them and their families. On another note, I see that Major Cathy Kaus, an Ohio Reserve Unit Commander just was released from 6 months in PRISON for her role in the infamous "scrounging incident". You know the one where parts were taken from abandoned vehicles in Kuwait and placed on vehicles hauling fuel in to Iraq. An ABSOLUTE DISGRACE. Kudos to Sen. Mike DeWine (R) Ohio and Sen. Dick Durbin (D) IL. for asking for clemency for these soldiers.

Private corporations and private peopple can do with their money what they will. What possible business is it of yours how they spend their money? They earned it.

Follow up question: How much was spent on previous innaugurations?

Hey, buddy...you go to war with what we give you, not what you need, and you'd better like it, because you're gonna be there for a while. At least that's what GWB's main man Rummy thinks. Real smooth, huh? Maybe GWB can give Rummy a medal for saving money on armor and equipment.

Although I am still on the coveted ignore list, this is so ludicrous it cannot be ignored.

Nozzlecommie is conveniently taking a snippet of a several minute long answer out of context. The fact of the matter is that there has been an exponential increase in the number of armored vehicles in the Iraqi theater. They have also been major inroads in improving the equipment, supplies and resources available over there. So to insinuate that our troops are anything less than appropriatley equipped is a bold faced lie.

It is not a private entities responsibility to pay for any government operation in any other way than taxes. And those people donating to the innauguration are likely paying more than their fair share. There is not even a mechanism for a private entity to provide equipment or funds for the war.

"Hello? Defense Department? I'd like to send a Jeep to Iraq, please. I'd like to put it on my American Express."

There is so much anger in the lib crowd these days. YOU LOST! GET OVER IT!

Nice nasty tone George. I guess it isnt my business how they spend their money. I will now not have an opinion because it "isnt my business" Per George W.

I guess since I wasnt court-martialed, I have no business commenting on that either.

First of all, it was Kerry who used the "not your business" line int he campaign, not the President.

Secondly, I didn't say you couldn't have an opinion. But your opinion is baseless because there is no means whatsoeve to allow any private contributor to buy a piece of the war.

Thirdly, I'm nasty? Nozzlecommie has been the vilest poster on these forums for months.

Fourthly, the President was never court martialed. Another liberal myth.

Where did I say the President was Court-martialed? I was talking about the soldiers from Ohio. Interesting viewpoints (http://www.optruth.org//main.cfm)

Since you libs are always so interested in facts, let me help you with this one.

Hillary's second innauguration cost just shy of $42 million.
