I hate to spoil the festive mood here, but in my home town, Christmas usually results in a death.
Christmas Eve, 2001. Motor Vehicle Accident Ryders Ln and Sullivan. Vehicle 1 was making a left turn onto sullivan, vehicle 2 crashed at a high rate of speed into the passenger side of the car. when the PD arrived, the passenger (a young kid) was in cardiac arrest, pulled him out through the window, and administered CPR. he was pronounced in the ER
Christmas Eve 2002. Neighboring towns gets dispatched for a person down. due to it being christmas, they don't have a duty crew. luckily, they have two people who roll their rig to the scene, but they need help with a very large patient in full arrest. we roll 2 rigs with 3 man crews to assist, pt pronounced in the ER.
Christmas Day 2003. Person was crossing at the Ryders and Tices intersection, got hit by a car. when the crew arrivded at the hospital, they were covered in blood. he was pronounced in the ER
Christmas 2004, early morning of Christmas eve, the president and life member of our squad was killed in an MVA on his way home from work.
again, sorry to damper the mood, but we don't have the greatest of lucks when it comes to Christmas :(
