Down here in Upside Down land. It is Christmas Eve.
40 minutes from now a Red Truck will leave the station with a crew of 4 Liddel Elpers. Santa will be taken around the streets with his bags of sweets for the young uns, and the Elpers will ensure they all get to visit with him.
A tradition for over 30 years now for the Brigade. A chance for us to spread some good cheer with our arival for a change.
This year for the first time I get to watch my own sons face as we stop by the gate.
The Liddel Elpers hope that between now and next year it will be the only time we leave the station, but that is a pipe dream.
So we will take this time to enjoy the sun, wind, sea, and the people of our town. And those who we have required our help during the year, or their relatives, for a moment of smiles and warmth.
To you all, a Merry Christmas.
Kia Kaha from one of the Liddel Elpers.
