What are we supposed to be doing in Michigan? I have taken the online course but our training officer has not heard anything as of yet. Is there something available from the training council?

I would expect the FFTC to conduct a study and then start writing a course outline and then a full curriculum which is specific to Michigan. With their current funding and staffing levels the process should take about 3 years.
They could of course pull it off the shelf but then it wouldn't be "Michigan specific". It's more fun to re-invent the wheel. We don't want a nationwide standard because it would be too simple.

Anyone have an update on this? Is the FFTC planning anything to bring Michigan into compliance?
Stay safe,

I have not heard anything as of yet. Seems the training council is lost and doesn't have a clue as usual. Someday we might be up to par with the rest of the world but I am not holding my breath.:D

My understanding is the latest edition of the National Fire Academy ICS course is in compliance with NIMS as long as you complete a table top drill in your area.

Anybody know when the training council will have the information for the fire departments? Sure would be nice if they would keep us in the loop. Don't want to do alot of extra work that might not be needed or correct. Hope we here something soon.
