What kind of soap would you recommend using to clean my Scott SCBA face piece if any?

TIA

Simplify your respiratory protection program by incorporating Scott’s Multi-Wash Mini into your cleaning and disinfecting procedures. Multi-Wash Mini is a pre-measured iodine based solution of both cleaning and disinfecting ingredients, eliminating the need to mix and measure disinfectants with water.

Although tough on contaminants, when used as directed, Multi-Wash Mini is safe for you and your Scott equipment, including all metal and rubber parts of your regulator and facepiece. The E.P.A. has registered Multi-Wash Mini as a cleaner/disinfectant. It has no odor and is safe if exposed to the skin.

(their words not mine, obviously hehe)

Sure, you can use other sprays, disinfectants, bleach solutions... BUT when you start having issues like cracks on the lenses and elastics on the net weakening... it's better to be using the manufacturer's products so you're not up the proverbial creek.

Note that the stuff does expire, so don't buy 4,000 gallons of it at once... I think it's 1 year from date of manufacture. Of course, you could probably save on the 800% markup and just use a Betadine/Baby Shampoo home brew... :D

For the $1.95 solution.

Lysol foaming cleanser. We have used for years, with no issues. We also use it at the Fire Academy I work at, and nothing removes carbon better, easier. Again, we have had no problems there. We ran it by our local Scott rep and they did not have any issues with us using it either.
