i posted this in another forum but they were like a pack of wolves. pointing out everything bad i said about other topics. if you read any of those i do NOT talk like that just type that way. i am a lot more mature than what they give me credit for. Anyways, i am looking for a good web site for ohio fire jobs. i keep hearing in the past few days of all these depts hiring all these people but i can not find a way to find which depts are hiring what. i am a fresh 240 with two years as a basic emt and 36 hour. now that i have my 240 i want to move on to a career dept. if anyone can help i would appriciate it.

Napoleon is testing soon. The test is May 15th.
Here's a link to their website, with all the info, you can even download the application.

I too am looking and have yet to find a great website where the research is done for me. I've made a list of all the departments I would be interested in working for based on their locality and contacted the civil service commissions directly to find out when the next testing would be. For the most part they have been accommodating, but each municipality has little differences.
Just by routinely checking the classifieds on Ohio.com I found out that Kent is hiring.
Good luck!

I know this is a sore subject but what exactly are their residency requirements? One of our guys is going to test but doesn't really want to move.

PFD109NFD107 can tell you for sure, but I believe you can live in the City of PBurg, PBurg Twp, parts of Rossford (which I believe are just the newer areas that were annexed), and I believe parts of Maumee. Not sure if it goes farther to the south like in Middleton Twp or not.

Well if they're required to live in those areas, I sure hope the pay is good!

You guys are all funny!!!!
Yes P-burg has a very restrictive residency requirement. It isn't limited to the city but it isn't much bigger.
