Looks like a tattoo..................

I consulted my Grandson, Dan, who is a Firefighter who has tattoos, and his response was "Cool" so I guess you have a good one, looks OK to me.

ohhhhhh c'mon you two, quit being so wimpy LOL. I have one on my lower back and it was more of a tickle sensation, the only discomfort I had was when they were doing the right side, it burned a bit then. Aside from that it was a cake walk.

The pain wasn't that bad until close to the end. Most of the time it was annoying more than anything. What hurt was when the artist put color on top of color mixed with color on top of more color. It took around 3 hours to do.

It's Irish Gaelic.

Fír Na Tíne = Men of Fire (Firemen)

Braarys = Brothers in Battle (roughly translated)

77, I prefer the new saying the Dropkick Murphys came up with on their latest album: "Kiss Me I'm S***faced" They even have it on t-shirts on their website, but the wife would never let me get away with wearing one. :p

Thanks. It only cost $140. The artist was 30 minutes late for the appointment. When he quoted a price for me, he said he would do it for $140 and that he was 'giving me a deal'. He made a little more after I tipped him though.

The picture below is the design I used. I believe it came from a sticker on RescueTees.com

AHEM ..... do I detect you "trying" to "order" me to produce a picture or "demanding" that I do????? Get over the trip you are on I am not sharing a picture of my tattoo on here. If I had wanted to it would have been done a long time ago. But anyway, you shared yours which is nice but also keep in mind that your tattoo is on a part of your body that is visible to the general public at least some of the time, mine happens to be on a part of my body that I don't care to share with the general public.

I have to wonder WHY you all seem so keen for some chick to post a picture of a lower back tatt. Are you all so desparate that you get your jollies from female skin shown online? Funny, but I don't see any of the female members here chomping at the bit and begging any men to post pics of themselves clad in only a speedo

Oh yeah, and I'm old, I don't do "clubs" anymore.

How about respecting Jenn's wishes and leaving her alone?

If you asked her this question in the firehouse and kept asking..it would be a form of sexual harrassment.

Just my 4 cents worth.. I am feeling generous today.

I was directed to check this out. I will start by saying that one should take care to wake sleeping dragons.... nuff said?

On the main point of where this thread seems to have gone..... first I will say I am disapointed that some members would carry on in a query inwhich they have been told to lay off. I just spent the better part of yesterday looking through local labour laws on workplace harassement, and sexual harassment for personal reasons. I can drop the links here if anyone is interested in refreshing themselves with what those phrases mean, and how our society DOES NOT tolerate such activity. Once again... Nuff said?

Beware the ice you tread, it may be softer than you think.

Well, well, well. It's been much more than a year since I had that work done. I had another one done today on my right arm.

I spent a lot of time looking for an Irish tattoo and found one on Strike the Box and really liked it. It's very similar to the one I found but not quite the same. The skin on the Irishman wasn't filled in that much so that mine will show through. It cost $140.

I plan on getting more, but they will also be able to be covered up like this one. Next one will probably be a shamrock woven like a celtic knot.

What is it with Irish and firefighting? Is it cause Irish are the only ones stupid enough to do it? :p

Just food for thought

p.s. I am descended from Irish, Scottish and Welsh, this post was only in fun:D

In the US, it's because we did the jobs nobody else wanted to do. Fireman, Cop, Laborer, all the stuff that was "beneath" the genteel WASPS. Civil service jobs were steady, had a pension and were passed on from father to son.

Nice new ink there 1219.

OMG Brian, that's just wrong! Now I'm going to have haunting images in my mind.

Why are his feet going in opposite directions?

Cause that's the way the original looked. Don't be a hater! :p I wasn't really sure about getting another FF tattoo, but I decided to pay tribute to myself being on the job and my Irish heritage at the same time. Later on I might get a helmet with my dad's number on the shield, and that will probably be the end of the FF tats.

I did it again! This one was done today. It's on the inside of my left arm. The pain was considerably more than the others, pretty bad at some times. I got this one because my faith in Jesus means a lot to me. Just so happens that today is Good Friday.

First two were done by "Mad" Mike Drossos at Euphoria on Gaines and the cross was done at Capital City Tattooz on W. Tennessee (right near Station 1).

I helped Engine 1 on a car fire yesterday. Blocked the road to give them a safe working area. Cops were nowhere to be found.

I had mine done at "No Regrets" on N. Monroe. I was more than pleased.

A lot of the guys in TFD have gotten tats at Euphoria. They do some nice work.

...And why is it that there never a cop around when you need one?

This is one of my next ones that'll go on the inside of my right forearm.

Instead of a 9-11 tribute however, I want it to say something along the lines of "Honor, Brotherhood and Tradition".

I need to get my fightin' Irish fireman touched up then I will have a "Fir Na Tine" banner put over the top and a "Gilroy" banner put underneath. My friends Laura and Whitney named him last summer and I told them they have to come with me when I get it done.
