Man stops to help, is busted for D-U-I

(Montpelier, Vermont-AP) -- A volunteer firefighter from
Waterbury stopped at the scene of an accident and called Vermont
State Police to report that the driver might be intoxicated.
But the person who ended up being arrested for alleged drunken
driving was the volunteer firefighter himself, 32-year-old William
G-Glennon.
State police say the incident occurred early yesterday on the
northbound Interstate 89 exit ramp in Montpelier.
Police say when they arrived on the scene, the driver of the car
that had gone into the ditch was uninjured and sober. But they
processed Glennon for D-U-I and ordered him to appear in court to
answer the charge.

Accidents like this is why we joke, "Hey, we're not Waterbury Fire, we don't need to have beer in our house"...And this is coming from a neighboring town.

Sad, but true.
