IAFF/IAFC Wellness Program

I am completing a research project regarding the IAFF/IAFC Wellness Initiative. Please note if your department has implemented all or part of the program. Thanks for your help

There is a good article about the program in this months "International Firefighter" (the monthly newsletter/magazine from the IAFF) We have inplemented the program in Calgary, Canada. Firefighters do a yearly medical, the first of which screens for heavy metals in the blood. There is also a yearly fitness evaluation which, this year, is mandatory. It is not punitive however. If a firefighter is out of shape, the peer fitness trainers can assist him/her with an exercise regime and or diet.
