Are "Mohegan Fire Co. Inc." and "Mohegan Tribal Fire Dept." two seperate fire departments? If so, where is the Mohegan Fire Co.?

I'm just wondering because they both won FIRE grants in two seperate rounds.

Yes they are.

Mohegan Fire Company is one of four protecting the Town of Montville. They are staffed by about 35 volunteers with IIRC 2 paid weekday staff & 1 paid overnight & weekend staff. Paid staff are employees of the Town of Montville Fire Marshals Office.

That's pretty much the same staffing for all four volunteer stations in the Town, although two I think do get 2 paid men on weekends. Paid men either staff the ambulance and/or drive 1st out Engine. When only one paid guy on duty, if there's no vollies to help on the ambulance another paid guy comes from another station in a Service/Pickup truck to meet the ambulance on scene to make a crew.

Mohegan Tribal Fire Department protects an area adjacent to Mohegan Fire Company, heck, it used to be their territory until the Casino was built. Mohegan Tribal is a career department that protects the Mohegan Sun and surrounding reservation land. The (Indian) Chief when the Casino was built was a former 1st Selectmen & Firefighter from Griswold; the (Fire) Chief comes from a firefighting family in Voluntown. Good guys both. Mohegan Tribal provides the FAST for Montville, Norwich, and other nearby towns and they go automatic-aid for most reported structure fires in the area for that reason.
