I just turned on my laptop and nearly EVERYTHING is gone!!! All of my work and school files are gone. It shows that Microsoft Office is not installed. I know that Firehouse has MANY computer experts so PLEASE HELP!!!!!

Go to your refridge, grab yourself a barley pop, put the laptop in the freezer, it'll make a great ice sculpture. re-apply barley pops as needed as you sit back and remember how simple your life will be without it.

What Operating System are you running. Are you running Windows XP? If so you might (MIGHT) be able to restore your data, by doing what is known as a system restore. Hollar back

Whats yout OS,you have Kazza or Morpheus,you dl anyhting recently,new software,improper shut down?

I may not know but it sounds like a virus,maybe someone better at this can tell you exactly what you need.

Windows XP Professional
The only thing I did recently was to add another user a few days ago. Other than that it has been business as usual

Go to Start > Help and Support, in that window look under Technical toolbox and click on System Restore. Follow the on screen instructions to make your computer revert to a time before you added the second user. That should restore Office and perhaps your programs. If it doesn't work the restore is reversable. It's worth a shot.

I just added a restore point as I got to thinkin about what if I get his germs ?
