Anyone how has not "heard" from the IACOJ. Did you follow all the requirments for registering. If your account was never activated, chances are an application was never sent to the link on the home page. No app, no approval.

The reason for the mass emails was to try and determine who is in fact a member, and to jog those who haven't into doing so (send in their app)

One is not a member of the IACOJ unless they submit an application and get approved by the Board of Directors. There are no "wannabees" in the IACOJ. We share opinions, learn a few things or two, have a few laughs, enjoy a few cold ones when we get together (off duty and no pagers!!!!) but most of all...we respect one's opinions and can agree to disagree like ladies and gentlemen.

If you go to the site, read "Gonzo's words". I wrote them, I beleive them, and if you can't live up to them, then don't apply. If you can, then put in the application. Don't be alramed if it takes a few days or so to get approved, as we all have lives off the site and away from our computers!

Call it "reciprocy". We discuss IACOJ business here and we discuss Firehouse.com business at the IACOJ site.
Qualify that by saying SOME business.

I realize many of you have already put our moniker in your signatures, but MOST have not.
It's also a sneaky way to find out who has been activated and who has not.
We also thought it was an appropriate time with all of the discussion here by the Webteam and others about what is acceptable and what is not to show our support as an organization to the TOS.
Alot has been made of the "first time posters". We all have to remember that we were there at one time.
Why, I can remember my first post like it was yesterday! Check that.
I can't even remember "yesterday", but my point is, let's help the newcomers instead of trying to discourage them.
I'm all for what is fair.

I kind of sneaked in to the IACOJ. I spent 28 yrs trying to tame the animal and keeping the pups straightened out. The mutts are a never ending disease like cancer who tries to destroy the sane and feed the insane. So I am proud to be a self proclaimed member of the IACOJ. We stand guard for the dignity of our fire departments and attack those who degrade for what we stand for.
