Cairns 1010

Does anyone have a cairns 1010 with a faceshield and a goggle system. I am trying to find a way that I can have 2 pieces of protection at all times. With my mask on and the face shield I have 2 layers of face protection. With just the face shield Stuff can get under the shield. The ESS Extricator goggles fit under the shield, but I am looking for a structual goggle that will fit under the shield and work. Also with goggles and bourkes, I will only get a mask at one point and a goggle / flip down at another point.


Does anyone know of any goggles that will fit under a shield other than the ESS Extricator.

I am just trying to get optimal face protection.

Yes, you can wear goggles with the face shield. We were issued goggles to put on our Ben II helmets that were purchased with the faceshields. Our policy says we had to leave the faceshields on the helmet after putting on the goggles.........

I am looking for someone with a Cairns 1010 not a ben II to answer my question.

Does it matter that much? A 4" faceshield is the same as the next and the one after that. My advise is to find someone on your department with the same set-up and get the same goggles as them. Or you can get the ESS structural goggles, they should be about the same size as the extricator. :rolleyes:

well are you going to wear the faceshield, gogles and SCBA mask all at once ?> I mean I like my eyes and the gogles only and a good pair of safety glasses should get the job done..............Oh ya I have a 1010 with the ESS snap on goggles.

Look, I don't care what kind of helmet you have. It can be done with damn near all of them. You tell me what the difference is between a BenII and a Cairns 1010 in refernce to securing goggles and a faceshield..........

i can see why you might want extra eye protection with a faceshield... but why put both goggles and a face shield .. the goggles are gonna protect ya .. and tis right most all goggles will attach the same way no matter what helmet.. i have a 1010 with the snapon ess.. with no faceshield cause its unnecessary.. but then again to each his own..
