In a move that sent shock waves through the community Deb Arnold, Center Township Trustee, revoked the contract with the Center Twp VFD for breach of contract. It is my understanding that contract negotiations were under way when a member of the fire department allegedly revealed details to the public, giving the trustee the leverage to take this action.
Knowing the history of the Chief and the trustee, it is my opinion this is simply a power grab by the trustee to get her own man in as Chief, which has been done.
I hope that someone else fron Laporte county or even possibly fron Center Twp VFD will see this and reply with more info.
Right now there are anywhere fron 4 to 14 members of the trustee's department now active and responding to calls.
