Thank you, the truck is finally in service after some minor set backs.

We know all about that here in Vernon. Warehouse Point also knows about "minor" setbacks. I guess its almost a given when you are talkin about these complex pieces of equipment. The more electronics the more problems. The next time I am but the Long Hill firehouse Ill swing by to take a closer look at the truck.

Actually 204 didn't catch its first fire until last night.

2- wood heavily involved.

I think Greg ran me over in the kitchen......or was that a freight train?

Yea Jay I think I ran into you at some point, actually who knows with the amount of people inside that house you could barely move anywhere so I had to plow you. I belive the saying is lead, follow, or get out of the way and you had to learn the hard way captain or should I say Chief.(just kidding) I think at one point we had two truck co's and three engines inside a little crowded.Actually i dont know about you i thought everything went very well.

The pics will be up on longhillfd.com and nicholsfire.com sites soon plus the pics from the easton job where 203 was special called for foam. Never did i think that would actually happen

I was not there i was working, but after seeing the guys when they got back i was happy to be sitting at work rather than flooding a basement with foam....

Why were you there for 8 hours on Tuesday? Wasn't it all over by then?

We helped state pd w/stuff and we had to provide ventialtion the tear gas was still bad on tuesday. The major crime squad truck is pretty neat i basically played in that all day. Plus i got a ct state police crime squad hat out of the deal.

hey dk
you talk like your the best firefighter ever do u think u can run an incident any better than command did at that fire maybe next time u can be in charge. If u think that we had alot of guys at that fire u know nothing about manpower in our surrounding departments and the manpower u can get on a first assignment.you can get anywhere from 32-50 men on a first assignment.so when it comes down to it our department is still lacking in manpower.!!!!!

Greg-
If its the same truck that I'm thinking about it is nice. I was able to get a small tour of it at a call that we had to do lighting for. It was on Spring Hill by the Soccer Fields. That one where they thought there was a grave and it ended up being a buried dog. We went to set up lights and then we just sat there.. I checked out the truck and it was a driving crime lab.

Secret-
Didn't sound to me like DK was knocking Incident Command.. just said it was tight. Its always tight at a house fire... everyone in full turnout plus packs.

Secret, RELAX. Learn how to write. Read posts carefully. drkblram didn't mean anything by his comments. Your over reacting. On your comment about manpower for a first assignment, there is only one department in our area that sends 30+ FF to an assignment and that is BPT. They send 31 to a confirmed fire(multiple calls/smoke showing). Is 31 enough? Sometimes. Not if it's a 3 story wood, baloon frame/multi family with exposures, well involved. But if you talking about a 1 1/2 cape in a suburban setting(Trumbull)31 Firefighters is plenty, most of the time. How many where at Rose Terr.? I didn't count, but there where at least 18 from TC and NFD and all the assignements where covered. A good job by all.

hey stealth and dk
i didnt realize that the firehouse forums would be a term paper that would be graded on spelling and gramar im here to get a point across i dont care if i spell the whole post incorretly i just cant stand people who come on these things and talk bad or say stupid things about there department and about other departments when they cant complete the tasks they were even given that is not what the brotherhood of firefighting is all about.if people cant come on here and talk about serious subject instead of what went wrong on every single call that person goes to they sould find somthing else to do.

u need to face a simple fact though secret.. Trumbull doesn't burn... so when u get that one fire for the year, things aren't gonna go as smooth as it would in a veteran dept like BPT. I can think of something that went wrong with every fire I was on in Trumbull. But most of the fires I was on, everyone came back to the firehouse. Of course there was one fire that I drove 4 guys to and only returned with 1. So they're good and bad. It gets rough sometimes cause if you only get 2 (good) fires a year there could be guys on that rig that haven't seen fire in months or even years. Critizism is good but bashing is not. LH, TC, and Nic all get along pretty well and you guys ussually get your stuff together when it needs to happen.

In the words of Rodney King "Why can't we all just get along?"

Sounds like one of two things happening here with all these remarks, one you guys or either the best firefighters out there and have been on the job for a long time and know your stuff or a bunch of kids who have nothing better to do in their life than to sit here and make remarks about other people. I think it is the latter of the two!
If you guys are all from the same location why don't you "rag" on the person face to face instead of on here. These forums are for real conversation about seriuos issues and from what I have read and mind you I have not been on here long all I see is bickering going on.
Another thing I see is with all this bickering is you guys must not be a very busy town, city whatever and maybe you might try and find a better way to use yuor time and talk about real issues out there! Any way enough babbling from me and guys can we keep it to the subject matter at hand and learn from each other and not put down each other? Just a thought
thanks
