As some of you might not be aware from other sources, our Lady Cheffie has recently been diagnosed with Neurofibromatosis Type 1. She has asked Pumper41 and I to send out messages on her behalf. Basically it all comes down to the fact that she will be undergoing some rather intense surgery within the next week or so, and as a result she will not be as active in the Forums for the next little while. She has also asked that anyone with “fun smilies” and well wishes for her, could these be posted through her home email.

Cheffie,
My thoughts and prayers are with you. I hope that your recovery is complete and speedy. I miss your menus that caused me to gain ten pounds just by reading them.
Hang in there, we're all pulling for you.

....but like I mentioned in another thread, don't go around telling people I did something nice, some of the folks around here (my FD)might find out and expect it of me all the time. Sorry, cant help out with making new ones from scratch, but if this site really has 5,000 of them I doubt I could come up with anything they haven't yet. Here's the link to the download:

Cheffie,
I am sorry,I noticed this thread a couple of days ago but hadnt looked at it until now as I thought it would contain something funny or humorus or have a new recipe about something nifty, I had no idea about the seriousness of the situation. You have always been here for us and somehow sneaked into our lives like a you are a true FF, always listening and have kinda just gotten right into our hearts in a most respectful fashion. I can only wish you a safe and speedy recovery. As already stated when you think about us here you are not alone ................take care and God Bless. 27 please keep us advised of her condition.

Hey all. I spoke with Sherry earlier this evening (21 Nov). She is out of surgery and has a private room to herself. She is doing well, other than being just a little dopey because of all the happy drugs they are giving her.
She asked me to send her regards, and deepest and much appreciated thank you to you all for your warm thoughts and prayers. She says that knowing your thoughts has helped to give her the strength to get through this.
Josh, Sherry is very deeply touched by your post in this thread. I read it out to her last night, this morning, and then again this evening. It means a lot to her, and she says "Thank you".

Rick:
Thank you for alerting us to this surprising turn of events. I knew that Sherry hadn't posted for awhile, but I thought that she was immersed in her studies and would soon emerge with more good news of her most recent exam. I had no idea that she had been strickened with illness. I feel badly that I had not known before her surgery. I have been "under" no less than 11 times and could have given her some pointers. My fault for not checking in sooner.
Sherry; do what the good doctors tell you. Enjoy every minute of the attention that you will be getting. Exploit it!
Priority should be given to your recovery towards good health. If you feel like posting, exchanging emails or just hanging out, I will be glad to hear from you. In the meantime, you are in my thoughts.
We'll talk again real soon.
Rick:
Email me with a mailing address. I'd like to send a get well wish.
Check that. I already have it. Little something will be on the way.
I could stand to lose some weight anyway.
Keep us posted.

Art, I spoke with Sherry again tonight, and all is well. I read your post out to her, and she greatly appreciates all that everyone has offered in support. She has been talking to the nurses about all of us here in the forums, and also about her Fire Sciences degree (has had to explain what that is more than once LOL).
On the subject of her courses, her study group received a whooopppinngg 25/25 on their last assignment. The topic was "Alcohol in the Fire Service". I have a copy for anyone who might be interested, just pm me with your email address. Sherry had originally emailed me with the comments from her instructor, but sadly those are on my work computer, and I am on leave for the next 10 days, and will not be returning to work until after 7 Dec, or else I would post them too. In a nutshell, he states that with her understanding and knowledge of the fire service, Sherry has a bright future in a managment position, within the service. (or words to that effect.)
Once again, Sherry thanks everyone for their well wishes and prayers, and she looks forward to "seeing" everyone again after she recovers, and is home again.

Josh, our Fiery Goddess of Culinary Delights is at home and doing very well. She is in good spirits, greatly due to the support of all the support and well wishes of her friends here, at FH.com and other places.
She has been able to get herself outside for short walks each day and is generally trying to enjoy her forced time at home. LOL Cheffie is still working diligently on her studies, and has recently posted another assignment.

I wanted to thank everyone for all the warm wishes and thoughts and prayers. Take care and stay safe everyone.
ps. Art, the only attention I seemed to get was about every two hours when the nurse showed up with her cart, a smile and a " I need to take your vitals." At least I know now I have vitals.
