(Meridian-AP) -- Tim Miller is Meridian's new fire chief.
Miller joined the Meridian Fire Department nearly 22 years ago
and most recently served as a battalion chief.
He replaces former Chief H- C- "Bunky" Patridge who retired to
take over as head of the city's training center and Department of
Homeland of Security.
Miller says Patridge has move the fire department forward during
his eight-and-a-half year tenure. He says he hopes to continue what
Patridge started.
Meridian Mayor John Robert Smith chose Tim Miller as chief over
four other candidates. The Meridian City Council is expected to
confirm the appointment at today's meeting.
