Anybody have an idea or news links to why the Baldwinsville NY FD is closing down and selling all their equipment?

BFD is not closing it's doors, they have split from the Village of Baldwinsville. I'm not sure of the whole story but I'm guessing it had a lot to do with money, i.e.-FD not getting all the money collected for contracts or the like. They were a department of the Village of Baldwinsville, just like water, police or DPW. When they officially split from the village they boughtALL new equipment; apparatus, SCBA, office equipment....everything new. All the stuff you see for auction at b-ville.com is the stuff the village owns. You might be able to get some more information if you ask on www.signal99.com . It's a central NY fire service website. They are Incorporated now.
