new cairns 880 [Archive] - Firehouse Forums

anybody got one of the NEW cairns 880's? i has one for several years and was wondering what kind of changes were made to ghet it compliant.

They made it lighter but also increase the impact protection.

I've got 2 members of my Rescue Squad that are testing them now. Looks the same and seems to be a little lighter and like Capstanm1 said, they improved the impact liner. After awhile I'll let you know how they work out. Hopefully, they're as tough as the original, which I still wear.
