Ok so maybe its not THAT important...but no one else was posting anything! Besides, this is only the second thread I've gotten to start. But I do have an actual topic...anyone going to Fire College in Champaign at the end of the month? Or is anyone instructing? I'll be there, hopefully in saving your own.

Son won't argue too much. Son knows who will be paying for the motel room. Father and Son will NOT be sleeping in the same room. Actually, there's 4 of us going so neither one of us will end up driving.

*note to CR, see the careful use of only ONE exclamation point! Just for you!

I take it you noticed my reply to nferno24 for his unlimited use of exclamation points? You know; one, two or even three aren't bad. I've done it myself. But he over used them. So I had to take points off and lower his grade to a "C". He must have gotten mad, because he hasn't been back since.
So; anyone seen or talked to Jay? If you do, tell him he needs to pull his weight in the Illinois forums. Florida, thanks to Stan the Man is starting to creep up. Before you know it, we'll be squeezing oranges for them.:D

I was just wondering if anyone in here is from my area?
Does anyone go to Monroe Fire School in August? I have been there the last 5 years and will be returning again this Aug.

Doug:
I can't remember what thread we were using for posting jobs, but in today's paper, the City of East Peoria (just across the Illinois River from Peoria) is taking applications for their firefighter eligibility list.
The ad says that the process begins with a "mandatory orientation session Monday, July 28 at 6:00pm at the FOLEP Building, 2200 E. Washington St., East Peoria.
All interested and eligible person are invited to sit for the examination. Applications are available on or after June 2, 2003 at East Peoria City Hall, 100 S. Main St. East Peoria, IL. Applications are to be returned to East Peoria City Hall by 3:00 pm, Monday, June 30, 2003."
Thought that you might want to know.
Now, would someone please tell me about the fart parties at Fire College?

I have been to Monroe Fire School once. I know of several guys who go up every year. They camp out and enjoy the "scenery" while partaking in the "social activities". Everyone says it's a great time. Of course, there are some excellent classes being taught by some of the best instructors in this country.
Oxford Fire in Alpha, IL usually has some guys that go up. You might contact Chief Dennis Shannon and ask him. I think Dennis and Sue rides his motorcycle up there and pitch a tent.
Woodhull is close to you. Let us know if you need anything.

Woodhull, Alpha close? I thought they were close. Back in the early 80s during the Jaycees days(or was it dazed and confused?) when I was a region officer I thought there was a Woodhull/Alpha chapter?.. What this has do do with anything, I don't know.
Back to Monroe Fire School and the fart party, all roads to Monroe from western Illinois go through Pearl City. Sounds like a meet and greet on the way. Hell, I'll even cook up some of those famous Liebenstein's Market bratwurst for a tailgate party on the way.:p :D

Not sure if this is a good thing or not, but our dept along with a couple others that camp with us are pretty well known at Monroe Fire School. We seem to attract the most attention! (Big tent with blue strobe on top!)
I guess we know how to have a good time. I think it was 2 years ago we deep fried 4 big turkeys and I think we fed about everybody that was camping there!
We usually don't go through Pearl City but I am sure we could make our way that way this year! ha ha ha ha
The classes are very good, I enjoy going there every year.

I took saving our own last year and it was a Great Class!!! Every firefighter should have the opportunity to take that class, if for no other reason than the self survival skills alone. I think it is so important!!!That our department is hosting a corner stone program on it. Also I will be up at Fire college for saturday and sunday classes. I have three rookies that are going for the first time, they will have a blast!! Where is everyone going to be saturday night??? My best guess is that half of you all will be at Hooters and the other half at the Bullet! :D Will anyone be in the FireFighter Challenge across from hooters??? Hope see you all there! Da chef is out!
