Hello All-
I was told to do cadence while we ran this morning, but did not know any. So, I know the vast intellectual people at the Firehouse would be able to help me out. Any cadence I could take back for Monday would be great. Thanks everyone!

I don't know but I've been told,

Smooth bores beat foggers when it's cold.

I would not suggest using "I don't know but I've been told, our instructor is pretty damn old!". :D

A couple of my favorites...

From DC EMS:

My girls a vegetable.
she lives in a hospital.
she's got her own TV.
They call it and EKG.
(There is more that I cannot recall right now...)

Another one, good for learning station numbers and names or areas...

I can run to station 1, just like this.
All the way to McLean and never quit.

I can run to station 2, just like this.
All the way to Vienna and never quit.

I can run to station 4, just like this.
All the way to Herndon and never quit.

etc, etc, ad nauseum...

I don't know any fire/ems cadence, but have a ton of good Army running cadence bouncing around in my head. Most of them have to do with the field artillery. All that time at Fort Sill will do that.

I'll put some of those to "paper" if you want.

I'm sure there's some more troops on here that could chime in with some too.

Here's one that will give your old boys a chuckle. I hope your not too young to get it yourself;

Squad 51 rollin' down the street,
Roy and Johnny can't be beat.
KMG-365,
Helpin' victims stay alive.
LA's finest paramedics,
Pumpin' that funky anesthetic.

Engine 51 is right on time,
Kelly's laying the attack hoseline.
Marco's watching the pressure gauge,
Watching Emergency is all the rage.

And here's an old standard from my military days. It is sung to the tune of "The ants go marching". It is definitely a little too rough for public, although it can be cleaned up or modified for the fire service easily enough:

Three German soldiers crossed the line taboo taboo
Three German soldiers crossed the line taboo taboo
Three German soldiers crossed the line they chased the women and drank the wine
and they all said zeich hile tickle my ass taboo

They came upon a way side inn taboo taboo (2x)
They came upon a way side inn the door was locked so they kicked it in
and they all said zeich hile tickle my ass taboo

The inn keeper had a daughter fair taboo taboo (2x)
The inn keeper had a daughter fair With long blond hair And breasts to There
and they all said zeich hile tickle my ass taboo

They tied her to a feather bed taboo taboo (2x)
They tied her to a feather bed and screwed till she was almost dead and they
all said zeich hile tickle my ass taboo

The inn keeper was so ashamed taboo taboo (2x)
The inn keeper was so ashamed he screwed her back to life again
and they all said zeich hile tickle my ass taboo

The inn keeper had a trusty gun taboo taboo (2x)
The inn keeper had a trusty gun he shot the ****ers one by one
and they all said zeich hile tickle my ass taboo

Three German soldiers marched to hell taboo taboo (2x)
Three German soldiers marched to hell they screwed the devil and his wife as well
and they all said zeich hile tickle my ass taboo

The moral of the story is taboo taboo (2x)
The moral of the story is you never screw in a feather bed
and they all said zeich hile tickle my ass taboo

The moral of the moral is taboo taboo (2x)
The moral of the moral is you always screw in a water bed
and they all said zeich hile tickle my as taboo

The Germans thought they won the war taboo taboo (2x)
The Germans thought they won the war the Canadians won it the day before
and they all said zeich hile tickle my ass taboo!

And they all said zeich hiel tickle my ass taboo.

This was modified endlessly in my class. Always a source for good laughs at others expense.

Hey hey, Fair-fax P.D.
What are you do-ing?
Put down your donuts and fol-low me.
We are the hundred and sixth, you see.

Wow... now ya got me thinkin'!

I got called again to do a cadence and I was able to recall some of the ones that we were using earlier in the week. Anything you guys would want to write down I would really appreciate it. I have a feeling that the instructors will call on me or maybe I will just take the initiative and do it on my own. I get good ones in my head and it never fails, start running and my mind goes blank, I get that deer in the headlights look!!!!!!
KEEP EM COMING!!!!!

If you do an internet search on Cadence, or Marching songs, you will get dozens of military history sites with them. Just print-em off and sing yourself raw.

Go to Quartermaster's website and order a cadence tape.
