When I went down to visit the Medicine Hat FD, I met the coolest FF. He had both ears pierced, and flames tattooed on his arms. He also had a design on his chest. Sound like any of the guys YOU know?
I'm thinking of getting a tattoo on my back. Any females out there with firefighting tattoos? Any advice? Any websites with cool FF tattoos? :p

Hi Blaze79,
Have you checked out "Strike the Box" (http://www.strikethebox.com) yet? Out of the 700+ tattoo on the site only 7 or 8 of them belong to female firefighters. Most of them are located in the Maltese category. If you get one please send it in to us.
Roger
PS- please don't consider getting this one...

My advise is if you are thinking about doing it, go do it. I know many women with Tattoos and the art work adds a little something to their beauty;) Also go check out the artist first. Look at photos of the work they have done. If the work looks amateurish go to a different shop.
Check out the strike the box site mentioned in the post above they have a ton of tattoos in many different categories. If you see some thing you like but it is not perfect print it out and talk to the artist about what you want done. The Maltese cross with firefighter and flames I have is a mix of 4 different tattoos I had found and asked the artist to blend into one tattoo.

Make sure if you want to go career that you make sure that it will be covered while you are in uniform. I know the guy you were talking about may of looked cool, but most departments I know he wouldn't get hired.
We had a guy apply here that was great, had degree in fire engineering, professional fire card, paramedic. But he had one arm totally covered in tattoos, a tattoo on his neck and multiple piercings. He was told he would have to wear a long sleeve shirt all the time and take out the piercings to come to work......he said no and he is not been hired at any department around that we know of because of that. I have several tattoos but they are all covered while I am at work. So choose wisely.
