I am sure I am not the only one that noticed the Illinois forum has the highest number of posts hands down.
1) Is it because we have nothing else to do.
2) Is it because we are that good that we get everything done faster so we have more time.
3)Or is it because we are the most dedicated group of firefighters in the whole country.
You be the judge.

Hey Mike,
Have you noticed no one from GA has posted in the GA forum?
1. Because everyone is too busy
2. Because We do things very speedily and accuraely
3. Because We are the most dedicated group of firefighters
in the whole country.
Seriously, I don't know why no one from GA participates in this section.
Yes Illinois should be congratulated for having much discussion.

I think we are so high because we have nothing better to do.
That is at least why I have as many posts as I do.
Because I am at work. and instead of doing wht I am supposed to do I get paid to do this. Helluva deal isn't it.

As we all know from taking OSFM and IDPH tests, the best answer, when available is, All of the above!!
Maybe we are all a bunch of big mouths.

Maybe its because the guys from GA, KY and IN are helping us out instead of helping their own.

I agree with Jay.
ALL OF THE ABOVE
The Illinois forum works because we all come here to learn, share and listen. We spread a little BS when the time is right and we are serious and sincere when responding to other firefighters posts.

Jay:
I noticed that a minor milestone for you came and went without much fanfare.
Congratulations on posting over a half a thousand times. Granted, most of it is in the trash bin, but hey, you've kept this Illinois forum going with your....your....well, whatever that is, you have it, my friend.
You are hot on my heels now. I must "hunker down" and extend my meaningful dialogue.
Also, if anyone's interested, BVFD had the honor of posting number 900 with his "Chance Barlow" thread. Congrats to him, too.
Remember, ILLINOIS BOYS; it's not about numbers. It's about incessant chatter, helping each other, having some fun along the way and learning ways to make our state fire service the best in the nation.
It's all about:
ILLINOIS PRIDE!
It's a pleasure.

I think the one of the key reasons our beloved Illinois thread is so popular is the fact that we are straight forward mid-western types who can look at two sides of an argument and find some common ground. Some may call it "fence sitting" I call it being pragmatic.

Let's see here:
Adze has 1609 posts. That's like an average of two posts per day since he registered in April of 2000.
Adze; wherever do you find the time to spend here; what, with your busy life and all? And don't forget FFF and IACOJ. Some time is spent there, too, isn't it?
Maybe you should just mozy on back over to that silent auction you call the Connecticut thread! Lots going on there, huh? Whoops; they all have lives. Guess when you're dressing up like colonials and greeting the tourists, you don't have time for much else.:p
God, I crack me up!:D

BTW, I never claimed to have a life.
It also helps when you work in front of a computer that has a broadband internet connection.

Kiwi averages 3.79 posts per day and Malahat averages 3.45 posts per day. So you can see...there are others on here who are worse than me. My problem is that I have been coming here too long...

WOW, broadband. Our 56k modems connect at about 28k and download at about 3 to 4 k. Broadband is only a dream in my town. Heck, our cable TV company went bankrupt. We've got one company with a local number, no wireless within 15 miles. When our internet first got started, there was one 56k line connecting to another router 40 miles away. Put about 30 users on that one 56k line and the speed really went down. Oh, well, at least we don't have to lock our car doors or our house doors at night.

I downloaded software from Red Hat the other day at 352Kbps...wasn't too happy with it being that slow. :)

Adze, I just looked at your website. Nice site. Your hummer is worth more than the 2 brush trucks, tanker and engine put together that we take to brush fires! Guess I'm jealous. It's a nice rig. And so are all your other ones.

Our new ET (Engine Tank) is not listed in the apparatus section. You can see it under different picture groups though.
