Glad to see you here. We are trying to increase our usership of the Illinois forums.
I work in Peoria. My son works for State Farm in Bloomington.
There are some good people here with one exception.
There are no strangers here; just friends you haven't met.
Ignore everything that Jay posts. He's just trolling for girls, anyway.
Hope to hear more from you.

Sure, tardiness is one way to look at it...but I prefer the "glass is half full" approach...I'm not tardy, everyone else is just really early.

Cap's a poet - did he know it?
Anyway, Hi, Greg, good to see a lot of new faces here. I think Bloomington is borderline as far as north or south is concerned. See, we have a northern delegation and a southern delegation. As far as I know, there's only about 3 Southerners on here. We'll see who you agree with more ofter & then decide where Bloomington belongs.

Wow. And CR feels he owes me payback. I'd say somebody else is a big spoon. Far bigger than I. (Good one, Ty!!!)

Seriously yogi, check out this thread in the general forums: New instructor needs help (http://cms.firehouse.com/forums2/showthread.php?s=&threadid=48059)
I posted a rambling diatribe about where to find free training stuff.

Also, see the thread here about Training Ossifer 101. You would have to drive a ways to attend, but I can assure you it is worth the trip.

Now, if you AND JACK don't mind, I am done being serious.

Cheif, you know who, said it was under control, just had to see for myself, with him you never know. Had my 16 year old daughter with, she though it was cool when i blew the cobs out of the old P/U. wasn't that burn for training ? burning it down ain't trainin. There; are you all happy now? He's the lone reason why I think that FF II should be more challenging. He passed it some years ago and has been a "firefighting legend" ever since.:D

Welcome from just outside of the East-West corridor!

Don't pay any attention to ChiefReason. He's a former chief (what does THAT alone tell you?) and now an elected politician. The worst of both worlds!:p

As far as indepth discussions, you've probably come to the wrong place for that. Every time I try to post something serious, ChiefReason butts in here and tears it all up. So I gave up on the serious stuff a long time ago.

It's much more fun this way, anyhow! :D

You northerners, I'm in the water supply business down here. It's a good thing your runoff probably goes into the Mississippi River. Our water comes either from the kaskaskia river or the Big Muddy river. Just stay away from the center part of the state.
Truck 32, welcome from the most southern poster on the IL forums. Stay awake when you post something here cause somebody will make the most of it. You're sure to learn something if you want to, and have some fun if you want to.
ps - you gotta watch out for all the "foreigners" who want to be from Illinois. That's cause we're the BEST and all the others are wanna bes.

No, 80, the Big Muddy River is one of the main feeders for Rend Lake. Not to be confused with the Little Muddy River, which flows into the Big Muddy south of Rend Lake. The Little Muddy is about 1 mile east of DuBois and the Big Muddy is 10 miles east. Both of the rivers are pretty big after our 2 1/2" of rain last night. Our water actually comes from Rend Lake to the east and the Kaskaskia River from the west. That's the lesson for today, just so we show everybody that we do indeed learn things in this forum.
We missed the roughest weather again, went north and south. One of these days we're gonna get it.

I thought talking about the weather was in the springtime thread

jboczek
05-07-2003, 12:40 PM
Cap, we weren't talking about weather. We were talking about runoff from the northern part of the state affecting our drinking water and how all the rain would dilute it anyway so we southerners have to drink whatever you northerners flush down the toilet. Which thread does that belong in?
How would you like to be south of us and have to put up with the leftovers from the milwaukee's best?
