What would you do if you were President of the United States and had to make this choice?

Scientists have discovered a meteor that is headed towards the earth. They have calculated that it will strike France in 2 days, at approximately 2:30 A.M. The meteor is large enough to completely wipe France from the face of the earth forever.

France and the United Nations have requested that the United States send all available ships and aircraft to help evacuate the country. Among the ships and planes you could be sending are many that are being used to fight the war on terror overseas.

As the President, you must decide: Do you...

A) Stay up late on the night of the impact to watch the coverage live?

B) Tape it and watch it in the morning?

I think I'd probably tape it. I need my rest.

I would send the equipment needed to get the job done...because we are the United States of America...and that's what we do...we get the job done!!!!!!!!!!!

It's no different than responding to a house fire of someone you don't like...you do the job and go home.

I gotta agree with you you stayback... go in and get the job done...

However, I would also make sure the French Government file the correct "change of address" paperwork so to be sure they get the bill, because it certainly wouldn't be a free move.

On a side note, if this thing is big enough to wipe France, as a country, off the map... the rest us are going to be in big trouble as well...

I would go to the UN and get a resolution passed saying it is OK to us our troops to save France. Ignore it 17 times, then maybe I would send Blix to go find France to see if they where really hit by the asteroid. I would then need proof to act any further.

Well, why would I send ships and planes to help someone when I could be bombing someone? Hmmmmmmmm...tough decisions. :p

If a metor was big enough to knock out a piece of real estate the size of Newfoundland..... looking around for cheapest shuttle ticket off this planet "I'm outta here. Anyone know when the next UFO stop is, I think I need a ride." (Thumb stuck out, standing in the middle of the shuttle launch area.) Cuz it ain't gonna be worth taping it or watching it on CNN cuz in pretty short order it wouldn't matter. Video tapes and CNN would suddenly become very obsolete and inconsequential.

I must concur with my esteemed colleague from Canada....something that big and my first thought of the aftermath reads: "Nuclear Winter, anyone!!" By saving the Frenchies, we're saving the world (again)... I think that we've done this enough to know what we're doing!!!! Go, NASA!!!!
